My New Sewing Studio!

I finally got around to taking pictures of my newly improved sewing studio!  I put in a cutting table and shelving unit to better browse my selection of fabrics.  Cutting on this new table is like a dream come true.  It is so much more comfortable and efficient to cut standing up as opposed to cutting on the floor like I used to.  I have a bar with hooks above the table to hang scissors and anything else I need at my fingertips.  This table also doubles as my office desk, so I put two long shelves next to it to hold my "office" stuff as well as more sewing notions.  I am just so excited to have this new space and to be moving forward for this spring!

Clutches and Shoulder Bags

These are my latest bag creations.  I have decided to design just a couple of new styles for the spring and focus on them.  These are two of them; clutches ~The Victoria, and shoulder bags ~The Porter.    I plan to design a new wallet for my spring line as well.  That is still in the works, up in my brain for now. :)  For now you can see all of my new goodies in the shop.
After making the first two prototypes of my new bags for the spring I started to get fed up with my sewing studio/room situation.  It's just not set up the best for productivity (which I am really going to need since I want to start wholesaling and since the spring/summer fairs are coming up).  I will have to remember to take before and after pictures.  Well since I already started to move things around the "before" will have to be the...."just before."
I haven't gotten to take pictures of the new bags yet but I am really excited.  As soon as I do, I will post them.

Handmade and ready for Love!

As I get ready to make my new spring bags, I cant help but think of love, warmth and renewal. These are a few items I came across that helped to put me in the mood!

Finding Balance

What an important thing to have, huh....balance.  I have found, in this first year of starting my handbag business, that it is really hard to balance my time between researching how to get my bags & website noticed, and actually sewing.  Almost every day it's a struggle for me to get off the computer and on to my sewing machine!  I really want this business to work, but in order to do that it takes a lot of research.  I am forever reading blogs like, Timothyadamdesigns and scouring through the etsy forums for advice.  Thank goodness there are lots of people out there willing to help us all out.  Thank you!
